Keeping Our Residents Safe
Living in Tampa, Florida, means being prepared for hurricane season. At Silver Lake ALF, the safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority. We maintain comprehensive emergency preparedness plans and work closely with local authorities to ensure our community is ready for any situation.
Our Emergency Preparedness Plan
Comprehensive Planning
Our emergency plan is reviewed and updated annually. It covers evacuation procedures, shelter-in-place protocols, supply management, and communication plans for families.
Building Safety
Our facility is built to meet Florida building codes for hurricane resistance. We maintain a backup generator to ensure power for essential systems during outages.
Emergency Supplies
We maintain a minimum 72-hour supply of food, water, medications, and essential medical supplies. Supplies are checked and refreshed before the start of each hurricane season.
Family Communication
Families are notified promptly of any weather-related decisions. We maintain multiple communication channels to keep you informed before, during, and after a storm.
Medical Preparedness
Our nursing team ensures all resident medications are stocked and medical records are accessible. We coordinate with local hospitals and emergency services as needed.
Staff Coverage
A dedicated ride-out team is on-site during any hurricane event to ensure continuous, uninterrupted care for all residents throughout the duration of the storm.
